When is City Hall open?

  • Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • City Hall is closed all major holidays - New Years, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving & the day following, Christmas Eve (1/2 day), & Christmas.

How do I get a Pet License?

A pet license is available at Renville City Hall.  Stop in anytime between 8 am-4 pm, Monday-Friday.  Remember to bring your pet's rabies vaccination records when you come in.  Also, you do not have to purchase a pet license until your pet is 6 months old.  You have the option of purchasing a Lifetime License for $30 or an Annual License for $8.

When do you declare a snow emergency?

The City Ordinance states that "No person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to stand upon any public street, highway or alley at any time during and after a snowfall, wind or other weather condition that has resulted in an accumulation of snow of two inches (2”) or more in depth on the public street, highway or alley until plowed; and at such other times and on such streets as to which the City shall cause to be posted on a stake adjacent to the traveled portion of such streets a notice that vehicles shall be moved"

If a vehicle is left on a City street and it's violating this ordinance, your vehicle will be ticketed and towed.

How do I pay my Utility bill?

  • There is a utility payment box in the alley behind the Community Center.
  • There's a utility payment box in the hallway outside of City Hall.
  • You can sign up for ACH and have it automatically deducted from your checking or savings account on the 15th of each month.
  • Stop in City Hall and you can pay by check, cash, or credit/debit card.
